This March we've got a stellar programme of music masterclasses organised, so you can learn all the tricks of the trade from some of the world's greatest artists!  Rock out on sax with Andy Sheppard, pick up tips from Funk legend Pee Wee Ellis or learn to play the blues with Matt Schofield - these are truly once-in-a-lifetime experiences, suitable for all abilities.

“FUNK AND ALL THAT JAZZ”

Funk legend Pee Wee Ellis presents this interactive workshop open to instrumentalists and singers of all ages and abilities. Participants will create their own versions of one of Pee Wee’s classic songs, concluding with each group performing their piece. An unmissable opportunity to learn from and play with an international funk and jazz legend.

“GYPSY MUSIC FROM WESTERN EUROPE VIA TRANSYLVANIA AND HUNGARY.”

Multi-instrumentalist Tcha Limberger, “The polymath king of Gypsy music” (The Times), will demonstrate the unique method of music making among Europe’s Gypsy population and how they’ve absorbed the jazz tradition into their music. Tcha will talk, sing and play using violin, guitar and anything else he can lay his hands on!

Star of TV show ‘The Voice’, Celestine Walcott-Gordon presents a workshop for choirs. Accompanied by pianist Anders Olinder, participants will learn correct warm-up techniques, group harmony and interplay, phrasing, dynamics and many other secrets from one of the UK’s most celebrated vocalists.

Dom Pipkin is the regular keyboard player for Paloma Faith and tours with his own group the Iko’s. Specialising in the New Orleans piano tradition of Professor Longhair, James Booker and Dr John; Dom will demonstrate the unique left and right hand approaches of the Crescent City keyboard masters.

Evan will discuss and demonstrate his own philosophy and approach to drumming and the art of drumming. He will share some tips and insight into his amazing style and technique. Topics covered will include influences, groove, the approach to rhythm, and timing and all in-between.
