As part of our Fringe Festival line-up this March, we’re screening two fabulous films at the Watershed in Bristol.
Though best known for his immortal recordings and live performances, Louis Armstrong was also a popular presence in films, appearing in over 30 movies in his storied career. Ricky Riccardi, Archivist for the Louis Armstrong House Museum, revisits Armstrong's silver screen past with a special, one-off screening: An Evening With The King Of Jazz. Don't miss this opportunity to enjoy the cinematic side of Satchmo on the big screen.
Wednesday March 4 | The Watershed | £6.00 full/ £4.50 concessions.
The Sound After The Storm is a moving documentary about life in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. It follows Lillian Boutté, Dr. Michael White and Armand “Sheik” Richardson as they use the power of the “music that came from hardship” - reborn in response to Katrina’s devastation - to transcend the crisis threatening to destroy their unique city and culture.
Lillian Boutté will join us for a Q&A after the screening.
Friday March 6 | The Watershed | Tickets: £8.00 full/ £6.50 concessions
